I can't find any fault in the home at all. When my sister came from the hospital to the assessment unit she was so nervous and lacking in confidence. I started to notice a change in her after about a week. Her confidence started to increase as she spent more and more time in the residents lounge, interacting with the other people, which wasn't something she used to do.

Debra Matthews
Brook Meadow House Registered Manager

I began working at Brook Meadows House in 2021. I had previously been working with adults with learning disabilities for the last 10 years and wanted a change. I had particular interest in the assessment unit here and gained a vast amount of knowledge due to the range of individuals we support and their complex care needs.
After 18 months my knowledge and confidence within the company had rapidly expanded and I decided to apply for the role as a senior care assistant. This position allowed me to widen my skillset and take a step up in my career, alongside studying for my Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
My dedication to my new role was noted amongst my colleagues and I was grateful to have achieved employee of the season runner up. Just over a year after starting my senior carer role and with the skills and knowledge I had acquired, I applied for a team leader position and was successful. I have been in this position for approximately 6 months now and am thoroughly enjoying the work involved, every day is a day to learn something new and I am excited to continue to develop and strive within the company.
