Doris Rose Celebrates Her 105th Birthday at Brook Meadows House Residential Care Home, Southend-on-Sea

On 11th November 2025, Brook Meadows House Residential Care Home in Southend-on-Sea hosted a remarkable celebration for Doris Rose, who turned 105 years old. Friends and family gathered to honour this incredible milestone with an afternoon filled with joy, laughter, and music.

Doris’s children John and Stephanie, invited family and friends to a delightful spread of food, drinks, and a beautiful birthday cake as they shared cherished memories. The event was made even more special by the presence of Lady Sidra Naeem, Deputy Lieutenant of Essex, who visited Doris to present a heartfelt poem and a personal card on behalf of the county.

Doris was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, receiving numerous cards, presents, flowers, and warm birthday wishes. The celebration featured live music and singing, creating an atmosphere of happiness and togetherness.

Born and raised in Hackney, Doris fondly recalls her childhood and attending Remembrance Day marches on her birthday throughout her life. Reflecting on her longevity, Doris shared her secret:

“The key to living this long is a positive mindset.”
