What We Offer
Viking House provides a wide variety of engaging and meaningful activities that are tailored to support personal growth, wellbeing, and independence. These activities take place both within our building and out in the local community, helping to promote social interaction and community inclusion.

Meet The Team

Sharon has worked in the care sector for over 40 years. She started working in the private sector and moved into public sector working for several Borough councils within London and local to Southend.
Sharon worked in Viking service for 18 years working with adults with complex and profound needs, before moving into Avro/Project 49 where she worked up until 2017. During her time in Project 49 she supported adults learning skills to promote their independence. This led to her taking on the role managing the Making it Work Supported Employment service for adults with Learning disabilities.
In January 2025 Sharon became the Service Manager for the newly formed Engagement and Employment service overseeing Making it Work, Project 49 and Viking.
Sharon enjoys visiting historical buildings, watching rugby, cooking and spending quality time with her family.

Nicola worked for the Local Authority for 32 years before joining Southend Care in April 2017.
Nicola's career history encompasses working both in residential & day care services for adults with profound physical/learning disabilities.
Nicola’s interests include attending shows, concerts (a big fan of 80’s music!), swimming, spending time with friends & family, going for walks with her dog Ralph & holidays with her husband in their touring caravan!

Rhian has been working for Southend Care since 2022. She started her journey at Project49, a day service that focus on independence; developing and retaining new skills for adults with Learning difficulties.
Rhian has recently joined Viking House Day as a Senior Support Worker, she has enjoyed working with her new team and experiencing working with adults with profound and complex disabilities.
Outside work Rhian enjoys spending time with her family and friends; camping adventures and has recently started playing badminton again.
