Our self-contained flats, are designed to promote comfort, safety, and independence. Our aim is to offer more than just a place to live, we create a supportive environment where tenants can thrive while maintaining control over their own lives.

At the heart of our scheme is a commitment to independent living with care when needed. Tenants receive personalised support tailored to their specific needs, empowering them to manage daily routines, develop life skills, and engage in the community, all while having the reassurance that support is available 24/7.

By combining independence with the right level of care and community integration, our Extra Care Scheme provides a meaningful alternative to traditional residential care, helping people live with dignity, autonomy, and choice.

With over 18 years of experience as a Registered Manager, Joan brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to health and social care.

She has played a key role in shaping the high-quality, person-centred services at Spencer House, where her leadership and commitment have made a lasting impact.

Joan’s journey into the care sector was inspired by personal experience, seeing the positive difference that compassionate care made when her own father needed support motivated her to pursue a career in the field.

Her passion for providing exceptional care continues to drive her work every day.

Outside of her professional role, Joan enjoys creative pursuits, particularly sewing and other crafts, which allow her to unwind and express her artistic side.
