Our 2-Year Supported Housing Scheme

Our 2-year supported housing 'move-on' scheme is designed to empower adults living with mental health challenges to take meaningful steps toward independence and community integration.

We provide a safe, supportive, and structured environment for up to 34 tenants, offering tailored support that focuses on developing life skills, improving wellbeing, and building the confidence needed to transition into independent living.

Through individual support plans, we work closely with each tenant to set realistic goals and overcome personal challenges. From managing daily routines and maintaining a tenancy, to budgeting, cooking, and accessing community resources, our dedicated team is there every step of the way.

Mental health is at the core of our approach. We prioritise emotional wellbeing through consistent, compassionate support, helping tenants build resilience, form healthy relationships, and feel connected to the world around them.

By the end of the two-year programme, our aim is for every tenant to feel ready to move on, equipped with the tools, confidence, and independence they need to thrive in the wider community.

With over 18 years of experience as a Registered Manager, Joan brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to health and social care.

She has played a key role in shaping the high-quality, person-centred services at Spencer House, where her leadership and commitment have made a lasting impact.

Joan’s journey into the care sector was inspired by personal experience, seeing the positive difference that compassionate care made when her own father needed support motivated her to pursue a career in the field.

Her passion for providing exceptional care continues to drive her work every day.

Outside of her professional role, Joan enjoys creative pursuits, particularly sewing and other crafts, which allow her to unwind and express her artistic side.
