We are seeking a Senior Finance Officer to join our small, supportive finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role, takes ownership, and thrives in a team-focused environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely financial information and maintaining robust financial processes across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Management Accountant and wider finance team to deliver accurate and efficient financial reporting and analysis to the Board and Senior Management Team
- Work closely with Directors and colleagues to embed best practice in financial management and governance, in line with company financial regulations
- Act as the key point of contact for contracts relating to private residential and homecare customers, ensuring all financial documentation and checks are completed
- Manage operational finance functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and corporate accounts
- Assist in the development and improvement of financial systems, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with legal, statutory, and best practice standards
- Support the annual external audit process as required
- Provide assistance with financial modelling for business changes and potential new opportunities
About You
- Experience working in a finance role, ideally within a similar environment (care sector experience desirable but not essential)
- Strong understanding of financial processes, including accounts payable/receivable
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively with non-finance stakeholders
- Proactive, flexible, and able to work both independently and as part of a small team
- Part or fully qualified (or working towards) a recognised accounting qualification (desirable but not essential)
