A Message from Peter Thompson, Managing Director
It has been a busy start to 2025, and it's good to see people making plans for the better weather ahead. We said our thanks and farewell to Peter Little who has been our Chairman since the company started back in 2017, along with Andrew Hughes who was one of the non exec directors. Both had come to the end of their terms of office.
We welcome Mark Jarman-Howe who is Chief Executive of St Helena Hospice as our new Chairman, and Dean Cassar who is the Chief Operating Officer of the Lloyds Register Foundation as a non exec. We will also be welcoming Krishna Ramkhelawon who is the Director of Public Health in Southend as a non exec. The new board members will be working with us in developing a new business plan for Southend Care.
We look forward to welcoming some new services within our supported living offer this year, and have made good progress in taking on the full enhanced hospital discharge service from the NHS. We will be further developing our care at home offering later in the year. The new café has created a real buzz in the reception area at Brook Meadows House, and this initiative is supporting people from our Project 49 engagement service to develop new skills.
