Southend Care Ltd is a successful Local Authority Trading company located within Southend on Sea that has been successfully trading since 2017, starting with the transfer of a number of local authority services, and has grown from there. We currently employ around 330 staff, approaching a £12 million turn over, and support up to 1000 people a year.

We have successfully worked with staff teams to achieve our values driven culture, and modernisation of our services both in terms of the care and support services, and in the locations, we operate from. Southend Care Ltd has a reputation for delivering high quality care and making a positive difference to the quality of life to those we support.

A skilled and diverse board is key to our success, and we are now seeking a new board member to join the team and build on the achievements of the organisation.

We value the importance of a diverse board and therefore are not stating specific required professional backgrounds for applicants, but successful applicants should complement the skills of the current board members to deliver the company’s objectives. However, an experience and understanding of social care and/or health sectors would be advantageous.

For this opportunity we are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have a background or experience in Quality, or Children and Young People’s Services.

Successful applicants should already be operating at board level, and able to demonstrate a range of skills and experience including values based leadership, ability to understand and interpret financial information, commercial experience business development, governance, and strategic growth.
