                                                 Building Maintenance
At Southend Care Ltd we are proud of our Brook Meadows House Residential Home, and we are looking for a Building Maintenance person to help ensure it is looked after and maintained for our residents and staff.
As our building maintenance person, you will play a key role in supporting the Management Team to ensure the maintenance and safety of the home and grounds. We are looking for someone who loves general maintenance tasks and undertaking basic repairs including basic carpentry, decorating and grounds maintenance to maintain the standards of the home. You will make health and safety your priority and ensure the highest standards are always delivered according to legislative guidelines.
You will also be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and safety audits are completed as per required schedules and any areas of concern are highlighted to the Management Team
You will understand and comply with statutory and legal requirements relevant throughout the homes, including HACCP, COSHH, Health and Safety and ensure all staff understand and adhere to the health and safety policies and procedures within the home.
This is a special role because it gives you the chance to make a difference to our residents lives every day by ensuring Brook Meadows House has a clean, safe and well-maintained environment.
We are looking for a caring, can do person with experience working in building maintenance. Ideally, some of that has been gained in a care home setting. You’ve got a good basic education with GCSEs (or the equivalent) including English and Maths. As well as being very practical, you should like dealing with people and can build good relationships with residents, colleagues and contractors. You should be able to work well under pressure and use your initiative to solve problems. Above all, we are looking for a team player who takes pride in their work and is committed to maintaining a safe, comfortable environment for our residents.
