Case Study

Moving to safety

Stefan had been living with his brother, but when his brother moved out he became vulnerable and his  situation became unsafe. This in turn made Stefan anxious and withrdrawn.

An assessment identified that Stefan needed to move, to rebuild his confidence and skills.

Once he had moved and with the support of Southend Care, Stefan’s confidence began to grow and he worked with staff to develop his skills. He started to show a good level of independence and with support from his family, staff helped Stefan with his relationships.

The Making it Work service arranged travel training, which helped with ongoing independence and future employment possibilities. Stefan made excellent progress and now has his own property with a small garden which he is very proud of.

“Stefan’s confidence began to grow and he worked with staff to develop his skills.”
