Ros was born in Romford and after school she worked for Southend Borough Council as a typist. Ros was a very artistic lady, painting many watercolours of the local countryside and was also a skilled dressmaker.
She met her future husband, Brian, at a friend’s wedding. They instantly clicked and were married 11 months later in August 1968. Of course, Ros made her wedding dress and dresses for her bridesmaids. Before coming to Delaware House, Ros had been in a number of care homes but seemed unhappy, experiencing poor health, including significant weight loss.
Since her admission to Delaware, Ros has gone up two dress sizes and loves the catering. Her husband Brian visits every lunchtime so that they can still have their meals together. He feels the person-centred approach shown by the staff and their attention to detail has greatly improved the quality of Ros’ life.
