BROOK MEADOWS HOUSE – Our New Care Facility

Southend Care is delighted and proud to be working in partnership with Southend Borough Council to create a new flagship care facility on the current site of Priory House located in Prittlewell Chase.

We are pleased to announce that the new build has been formally named ‘Brook Meadows House’. It is on course to be completed in January 2021 with our services moving in shortly after. This will be a magnificent building that will combine a brand new modern environment with excellence in care.

The facility will include a 60 bedded unit creating an environment of 45 beds where people can undergo a short term period of assessment and reablement with a view to them returning home or to alternative accommodation in their local community. 15 beds will provide longer term support for people with very complex care needs often as a result of advanced stages of dementia.

Our Viking Day Service for adults with learning disabilities will provide care and support within the new building, replacing their existing centre at Avro Road. The service will offer a broader range of activities and support to more people and will benefit greatly from modern purpose built facilities.

Also based in our new facility will be our ‘Complex Intervention Service’ who deliver community based reablement and our ‘Making it Work’ team who support adults with a learning disability into work. In addition to these services the Head Office will also move into the building.

This is an extremely exciting time and a great opportunity to provide services to more people.
